New Festival & Events Directors Hired

Dec 9, 2011  |  General

After a nationwide search and an interview process that brought in staff, board, and a variety of community members, Port Townsend's own Barb Trailer and Carrie Muellner were selected to continue the success of the Wooden Boat Festival and to take the next steps in growing our Spring Boating Symposium.

"These two were the perfect solution," said NWMC executive director Jake Beattie. "Both of them bring strong connections to the maritime community, incredible can-do attitudes, and a great energy."

This is not the first time the women have worked together. They both served on the Swan School board and have helped organize the Department of Health & Human Services' Christmas Connection. And of course, they each had a key role that required solid teamwork for this year's Wooden Boat Festival, Barb as the Food Court captain and Carrie as the Bar Harbor captain.

"Our skills combine really well," said Carrie Muellner. "The job seemed like the perfect fit for us, and we are both really excited."
