Leigh
Kennell, Development Coordinator Leigh provides support to the annual and capital fundraising efforts, and is responsible for administration of the membership database. Leigh’s experience includes non-profit management, local government planning and grant administration. While living on Bainbridge Island, she was director of a non-profit, served on several boards, and gained local government experience as a City of Bainbridge Island planner working on land use, park, watershed and shoreline issues. Most recently she was grant administrator for Jefferson Transit. Leigh lived aboard a 35-foot sailboat for eight years and sailed throughout the Puget Sound area, often finding her work and interests focused on water quality issues. Her first visit to Port Townsend was made on a small sailboat, in dense summer fog, in 1977. The fog cleared just past Marrowstone Island, providing a memorable first glimpse of Port Townsend’s waterfront. Leigh has a degree in Geography from the University of Washington (1989).
